Betsey was born on October 21st, 1984 in the town of Darlington, South Carolina. She grew up mainly in Georgia, where she began seriously focusing on her art by taking advanced art courses and entering local art competitions. After graduating highschool, she decided to attend Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta, Georgia to pursue a degree in studio art. During the next few years she produced numerous works based on her experiences in Atlanta and abroad, creating a body of work to add to her portfolio. Studying also for a time in Florence, Italy, she enhanced her artistic inspiration and gained insight from artistic masters. After 4 productive years of college at GSU, Betsey graduated in December 2007 with her B.F.A. in Drawing and Painting. The artist currently lives and works in Atlanta, pursuing her art career.
